Concordis: Four Barossa Winemakers Unite

by Cellar Door

Four Barossa Winemakers Unite to Provide Wine Industry Training and Employment for Local Youth.

Not originally from the Barossa Valley, four successful winemakers met over a casual Friday lunch and discussed how they could give something back to the region that has been so supportive to their businesses. Collectively wanting to make a difference to the community, Ed Peter, Warren Randall, Pete Kight and Michael Twelftree decided to make a charity wine; from this Concordis was born.

Teaming up with Foundation Barossa, Kaesler Wines, Seppeltsfield Winery, Torbreck Vintners, and Two Hands Wines unite together to combine one tonne of their finest Shiraz grapes each year to create a unique cuvée - 'Concordis'.

Producing 1600 magnums annually, all proceeds from the sale of Concordis goes to a perpetual education fund through Foundation Barossa, which will then provide ongoing financial support and training opportunities in cellar operations and viticulture for financially disadvantaged, local youth.

The project aims to raise over $700,000 over the initial four years, which will finance two traineeships at each of the wineries beginning in January 2016.

The 2017 Concordis, the fourth vintage to be produced, is available for purchase through each individual cellar door and their online stores
